Safe space

Inclusivity Statement

Critical Proximity is dedicated to encouraging diversity and having an event that is welcoming and supportive of all its attendees. Discriminatory behavior will not be tolerated and attendees that do not comply with this vision will be asked to leave. In particular, ableist, classist, racist, sexist, and other forms of oppressive language are not welcome at Critical Proximity. Participants should respect the accommodations the event provides for accessibility. We also recognize that a diverse range of people will be coming to Critical Proximity with different experiences fighting social oppression, and want a positive learning environment while being respectful of people’s everyday struggles.

Safe space policy

The Safe Space Policy is presented at the start of the conference. All attendees are expected to contribute to the goal of creating a space where everyone can feel comfortable speaking.
